Celia Chen, research associate professor of biological sciences at Dartmouth University, looks for polychaete worms in the mud at Chapman's Landing in Stratham. Chen's research is part of a N.H. Sea Grant study to determine mercury and methylmercury bioavailability and cycling in Great Bay sediments, water and organisms.

A mother and son team up to build a 12-foot sailboat at the annual Boatbuilding Workshop on May 15-17, 2009. UNH Marine Docents worked closely with six families this year to construct a boat in one weekend.

Piscataqua Region Estuaries Partnership (PREP) staff participated in a site walk at Stonehouse Pond in Barrington on May 16th hosted by the Trust for Public Lands (TPL) and the Strafford Rivers Conservancy. PREP has awarded funding to assist TPL in protecting 250 acres surrounding the picturesque waterbody in the Cocheco River watershed.
