On July 29, 2009, Noel Carlson received a "Statement of Support" award on behalf of the Coastal Marine Lab for their support of the National Guard and Reserves. On August 7, 2009 in appreciation of his support for the US Coast Guard, Noel was invited to participate in sailing aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter "Eagle", America's Tall Ship as it sailed into Portsmouth Harbor.
